Age 84, passed away suddenly, February 25, 2010. He was born April 20, 1925, in Lansing, where he lived all of his life. Ernie retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1980, and began working for Belen’s Flowers, from where he retired in 2002. He was a member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ernie was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley in 2000. Surviving are: daughter, Lyn (Tim) Lawrence of Maryville, TN; son, Craig (Carol) Conrad of Okemos; 5 grandchildren, Kelsey, Collin, Kalby, Chase and Bailee; and sister, Margaret Clever. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 Capitol Ave., Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church.
