Age 74, passed away March 12, 2010. He was born August 9, 1935, in St. Johns, MI, the son of Ernest and Dora Tanto, who preceded him in death.

Raymond was employed at Fisher Body Assembly Plant for 42 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of UAW Local #602, and Harrison Aerie #3541, F.O. Eagles. Raymond enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, and going to the casino. He worked for local car dealers as a driver.

Surviving are: his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary; son, Raymond (Lori) Tanto, Jr.; daughter, Alice Vannest; 4 grandchildren, Victoria Vannest, Jennifer, Michael and Ray Tanto; 2 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kailyn Tanto; sister, Marian McGraw; and 2 nieces, Robyn Kramer and Tammy McGraw.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, with The Rev. Penny Swartz, of The Peoples Church of East Lansing, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Cremation will take place after the funeral service.
